And then there were four - maternity and newborn photography Inner West Sydney
One of the best things about my job is seeing my clients families grow.
I first met Chris and Lyllian when they booked me for a milestone photography session for their little girl Izzy. Lyllian and I worked together to style the session to make sure Izzy’s wardrobe suited her personality. The weather got very cold the week leading up to our photo shoot so I used that as an excuse to add cute winter touches like stockings and long sleeved rompers and a cute winter coat to Izzy’s outfits (all borrowed from my baby client wardrobe that my clients have access to).
I clearly remember Lyllian telling me that her daughter didn’t smile too much at the camera. From my experience as a family photographer, I knew that Izzy had to have a trigger for that smile. During the shoot I got mum and dad to play with their baby and lo and behold beautiful smiles. But Izzy saved her best smiles for her BFF George :)
Fast forward a couple of years and Lyllian tells me they are expecting their second child and wanted to book in for maternity and newborn photography. I was so honoured to have been chosen to document this special time in this beautiful family’s life.
Lyllian’s maternity shoot was done at Queen Elizabeth Park, Concord and mother nature decided to turn on another cold day for us. Lyllian borrowed a beautiful maternity dress from my client wardrobe but I asked her to bring a warm blanket or coat to cover up in when we were moving between locations. Izzy was a little shy at first but by the end of our shoot she was giving me big smiles and laughing. George came along again and we got some really sweet shots of the BFFs.
Shortly after the shoot, Lyllian messages me to let me know that Master Lachlan had arrived. He was teeny tiny but this kid had a strong kick! The family came to my Inner West studio for their newborn photography shoot. The colour palette that mum had chosen was neutrals with natural greens and this was perfect for Master Lachlan.
Master Lachlan rocked his first ever photo shoot. We got through all the family photos, sibling shots with big sister Izzy and all the solo set ups during our newborn photography session.
Mum and dad have chosen to frame their favourite photos from their shoots and I’m so excited for these gorgeous frames to come back from my printers so they can be hung in their forever home.
The ultimate compliment a client can give me is a kind review:
“Thank you so much Niña for taking photos of my growing family. What makes you so special and unique is how comfortable you make me and my family feel (including my shy two year old toddler) and results in the photos that I know I will treasure forever. I literally teared up seeing how beautiful my recent family photos turned out. I'd definitely recommend you to friends (and already have) and look forward to having you capture more photos for my family in the future. Thank you - Lyllian Bu”
In all the photos I have taken of this beautiful family, it is very clear how much Chris and Lyllian love their children and each other. There is pure happiness in the photos of Chris and his kids and you can see just how much he dotes on his family. Lyllian’s love and affection for her family is evident in her sweet interactions with them. For me, its these photos that truly tell this family’s story. Yes, our kids are kids and they aren’t perfect angels all the time, but we love them because of that and more and the photos that capture that love is your daily reminder.
