Photos in the time of the Coronavirus - Sydney family and newborn photographer

The world is in an evolving state and there is much uncertainty around. For me, the health of my family and clients has always been my utmost priority and I wanted to clarify the steps that am / will be taking over this period to ensure everyone’s safety.

Certificate of Acknowledgement

PERSONAL STEPS I HAVE TAKEN

- I get an annual flu shot and my vaccinations are all up to date.

- I have completed an online course ran by the Australian Government Department of Health on infection control training on the COVID 19 virus.

- I will continue to monitor changes as they occur (along with the rest of the world) and will adapt my business practices as necessary.

STUDIO

- Hand sanitisers will be available for your use in the studio. As per current Australian Government health guidelines, I ask that you please sanitise or wash your hands on arrival and when leaving the studio.

- Paper towels have replaced the hand towel in the bathroom (again per the current health guidelines).

I have always washed all backdrops, outfits and wraps that are used in the studio so they are clean and fresh for your baby.

- All surfaces will be disinfected before and after your shoot.

- It is important, that if you or any of your family members present with any flu like symptoms before your shoot that you please call me to discuss a potential reschedule. Remember that your family’s health is the priority and its not fun to be in photos if you’re not feeling well.

- I only do one newborn session a day so there will be no contact with other people coming to the studio during your shoot.

- We have enough toilet paper (and happy to share if you are in desperate need) :)

OUTDOOR SESSIONS

- I will be cancelling my March 28 Autumn mini sessions and will look to see how things are for the back up date of April 19, watch this space.

- I will be using my loooong telephoto lens when shooting outdoors.

- Until the government puts out official advice banning outdoor activities, I will continue to provide outdoor family and maternity portrait sessions.

- If you have been stuck indoors, maybe a run around outside in a local park will help re-energise your whole family :)

IN HOME LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

I know that some families will be preferring to stay close to home as much as possible. To ensure that I can still provide services for families who have just welcomed a newborn or would like to document this rare time that their family is together, I am providing in-home lifestyle photo shoots during this time. You won’t need to miss out on newborn or family photos just because you are at home.

Please note that with lifestyle newborn sessions, no studio props are involved and it is more documentary style photography. You will have access to beautiful wraps, rompers and milestone cards from brands such as Jamie Kay and Snuggle Hunny Kids.

I will leave you all with a reminder of the simple steps we can take to help contain this virus:

Wash or sanitise your hands regularly

- Sneeze into a tissue or your elbow (dispose of your used tissue ASAP)

- If you’re feeling unwell stay home

- If you are sick and think you have symptoms of COVID 19, seek medical attention. You can call the Coronavirus Health Information Line 1800 020 080.

It is very easy to get caught up in the hype. Its even easier with social media to panic. Let’s all try and stay calm and we will get through this together. Look for the positive and try and spend quality time with your loved ones at home and create happy memories so you can look back on some of this time with a smile.
