Fresh 48 sessions are held within the first 48 hours of your baby’s birth in your hospital room or birthing centre. It captures all the new experiences you want to remember, the newborn smell, the wrinkly little toes and fingers, that precious little face looking up towards you, the first meeting of siblings.
Those first days may feel like a blur to you, but with a Fresh 48 session, the memories will be yours to look back on forever.
IS A FRESH 48 SESSION THE SAME AS A NEWBORN SESSION?

Fresh 48 sessions are a different way to capture the arrival of your little one. The photo shoot is done on location at the hospital or birth centre and the style is more documentary. Your Fresh 48 photos will tell you a story of your baby’s first moments with their family.
A newborn session is a 3 hour session done in my Five Dock studio. There is more posing of baby and family involved and props are used for baby’s solo photos. Clients that book a studio newborn session often plan to create albums or wall art from their session.
Discounted packages are available if you decide to bundle up a Fresh 48 and newborn session. Please contact me for pricing information.
DETAILS
- One hour session
- Family and sibling photos are included
- You will have access to baby rompers, swaddles and milestone cards from popular Instagram brands such as Jamie Kay, Snuggle Hunny Kids and Wildflower & Oak, saving you some time and money when packing your hospital bag
- Your gallery will be delivered 1-2 weeks after your session
- Locations are limited to hospitals and birthing centres within 20kms of Five Dock
- Weekday sessions must take place between 10am – 1pm

$100 non refundable session fee is required to secure your session

TIPS
- Before booking in for a Fresh 48 session, please check with your hospital if they allow photographers into the rooms. Most hospitals allow photographers in as visitors but please check this before booking your session.
- Once baby has arrived, it is important that you let me know ASAP so we can lock in the date and time for your Fresh 48 session
- If you are able to request a bed next to a window this will give us better lighting for your photos
- Baby is usually more settled in the morning, if you are able to get permission from the hospital for a morning photo shoot this would be ideal
- Please consider choosing outfits that you will be comfortable in, you may be sitting on your bed or standing near the window
- Soft and neutral colour palettes always look timeless in photos
- I would love to capture the first meeting of siblings, if this is something that you would like, please factor this in when booking your time slot e.g arrange for your child to arrive 15 minutes after the start of our session so I can capture their reaction :)
- Mums – if you like, pack some of your favourite make up items in your hospital bag. This isn’t necessary but some mums like to feel a little special for their photo shoot
- Sit back and relax and enjoy being with your family, these make for the most natural and beautiful photos
